Maxwell Mansion 1856 was the first mansion built in Lake Geneva and has long been host to dignitaries and socialites throughout its history. The entire estate along with all its buildings have undergone a complete metamorphosis retaining its original character yet exploding with excitement of the new, the unique and the unexpected.
Located two blocks East of the lake you will find the Maxwell Estate, nestled among century old oaks, beautiful gardens, lounges, outdoor fireplaces, a heated pool, croquet and bocce ball amusement.
The Historic Mansion offers five traditional style rooms with exquisite antiques, en-suite baths and old world sophistication, while the Carriage House & Stable Suites are much more modern and dramatically designed with an equestrian “urBarn” (urban/barn) style with unique furnishings, sleek accents and reclaimed Wisconsin barn finishes.

This historically significant Italianate Mansion offers an exquisite and historic location for your important event. Built in 1856, the Maxwell Mansion was the first mansion built in Lake Geneva and has long been host to dignitaries and socialites over its history and is now available for your historic event.
Comfortably accommodating up to 150 guests throughout the mansion for receptions of all styles and magnitudes. The entire first floor of the mansion and perennial gardens with croquet lawn and fountain are designed to have your guests travel back in time to true Gilded Age Living.
Upon entering the double doors guests are welcomed into an intimate foyer with chandeliers, a fire-lit receiving room is off to one side and crystal laden ballroom to the other. The 1880’s Apothecary Bar is adjoined by outdoor cabanas and wraparound deck leading to the front gardens. There is also an intimate lounge and marble breezeway connecting all the unique spaces.
