Get into winter sports at the Mountain Top at Grand Geneva, perfect for skiing and snowboarding. Skiing and snowboarding lessons are offered on the premises. For the more seasoned skier, there’s a nighttime ski for a more adventurous trip. For those traveling with small children, there’s sledding – the perfect winter family-fun activity.
2. Cross-Country Skiing
Where: Big Foot Beach State Park, Grand Geneva Resort
Once the snow begins to fall, visitors can find cross-country skiing options at both Big Foot Beach State Park or Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. Equipment is provided at the two locations, where skiers can take off on designated cross-country trails. All trails are maintained daily.
3. Ice Skating
Where: Grand Geneva Resort, The Abbey Resort, Lake Lawn Resort, The Ridge Hotel
A number of Lake Geneva’s best resorts feature ice skating rinks during the winter. The skating rinks are open during the day and evening. 5. Winterfest

From January 28th-12th, Lake Geneva hosts its most popular cold weather event, Winterfest. It consists of various contests, from the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition to the Human Dog Sled Races. There are many unique and enjoyable events happening throughout the 2 weeks. The festival includes helicopter rides, cocoa crawl, chili cook-off, an ice bar and so much more. While visiting, guests can enjoy all the unique shopping and dining options in downtown Lake Geneva. Events are held at various locations around the area.
