Lake Geneva Featured in Discover Wisconsin Digital Short Video - VISIT Lake Geneva recently partnered with Discover Wisconsin to launch a new digital short video highlighting fall in Lake Geneva. The video will run through the fall season on a variety of streaming channels, the Discover Wisconsin website, and DW social media channels. Dear Partners - September is Chamber of Commerce Month, with an official proclamation declared by Governor Evers. The work of VISIT Lake Geneva is to promote our 400 partners, and advocate for them on a legislative level when needed. This includes local, state and federal officials.  This past year we have worked with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, Natural Resources, Tourism, and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation regarding labor shortage challenges, infrastructure, grants, trail extensions, signage issues and marketing opportunities. The Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA) announced today that several grant programs targeting the tourism industry announced last week are now accepting applications. These grants, funded by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Coronavirus Relief Fund (CRF), will help Wisconsin’s small businesses and venues that serve as cultural catalysts in communities across the state. This afternoon, Gov. Evers directed Department of Health Services Secretary-designee Andrea Palm to issue Emergency Order #3 which limits public gatherings to no more than 25% of a room or building’s total occupancy.The Order is effective 8 a.m. October. 8, 2020 through November 6, 2020, and applies to any gatherings at locations that are open to the public such as stores, restaurants, and other businesses that allow public entry, as well as spaces with ticketed events. Two days ago, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot added Wisconsin and three other states to their expanding COVID-19 travel quarantine list. Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers' administration has barred gatherings of more than 10 people, effectively closing restaurants and bars around the state. Under the new order, they may remain open, but only for takeout and/or delivery.
