Breads and spreads! You “knead” to try this hands-on, historic bread making experience.
Overview
Get ready to knead, roll, bake and cook in this historic introduction to 1800s cooking. Step up to the 1880s stove in the Crossroads Village Four Mile House kitchen and tend the fire as you prepare meals eaten by previous generations of Wisconsin settlers. Use utensils, methods and recipes from the Old World to craft signature dishes fit for you and your family to enjoy. After creating an old-school boarding house meal, wash down your hard work with a refreshing beer or historic soda. No cooking or baking experience is needed for this special session—an Old World Wisconsin ambassador will guide you as you put together delicious eats like an expert.
Workshop attendance also includes FREE admission to Old World Wisconsin on the day of the class, as well as free prepared lunch. Guests will make food items for tasting and will be provided with recipes used in the program to take home.
