Southeast WI acoustic trio
Nora, Marjie and Doc are all accomplished musicians who have performed for over a decade in the southeast part of Wisconsin. Marjie and Nora have performed together since high school and regrouped years later in their 20s and performed for 12 years with a variety band. Marjie is married to Doc and the two of them formed a local country rock band back in the '90s and now they've joined together once again with a new acoustic trio!
NORA - Vocals & Guitar
Nora started playing guitar and singing in her first band when she was 12 years old. She played guitar and sang in several bands over the years, covering a variety of different musical genres. Throughout those years, she has played for weddings, private parties, casinos, church festivals, WI State Fair and Summerfest, to name a few. She has also performed some live radio broadcasts at local stations WBKV and WMSE.
Musical highlights include co-writing and recording several albums at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, and an EP at The Exchange in Milwaukee produced by Joe Puerta, bassist/vocalist and founder of the American rock band, Ambrosia, and original member of Bruce Hornsby and the Range.
Marjie - Vocals & Percussion
Marjie proves you CAN get a huge, great sound out of the smallest set of speakers. If there were ever a cross between Heidi Newfield and Linda Ronstadt, you would hear Marjie right in the middle. For the record, you wouldn't just hear Marjie, you would REALLY hear Marjie!
Marjie has brought listeners 40 years of powerful vocals. Most who hear Marjie are impressed that the deep tone comes from such a "petite lady."
At the age of 11, her voice not only brought crowds to their feet, but brought the kitchen staff away from the kitchen to hear just who was commanding the microphone. When Marjie was just 14 years old she performed live on WEMP radio station at a well-known Milwaukee club. Marjie's unique punchy, yet true country and pop vocals are "true to the cause." Her influences include Martina McBride, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronstadt and Melissa Etheridge.Over the years you could have heard Marjie's fine country and pop voice on stage while singing with a variety of bands such as: ZMF, Jim Gaff Band, Loose Change, US-5, Inside Straight, and Nashville Limited. She has also performed at the Hodag in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, performed live over the radio and was advertised live on WMIL.
Doc - Lead Guitar & Vocals
Doc started his musical career when he was just 15 years old. He started as a drummer and decided to upgrade his skills and hone in on his passion for lead guitar. He not only learned lead guitar, but became known in the Milwaukee area for being the best hot-picking B-bender player around.
Doc has an amazing talent and unique sound. His forte is achieving that gritty yet smooth-as-bourbon Nashville sound. Doc has played in several local Milwaukee bands and has recorded with several well-known artists as well. He's performed with Dan Lepien, Michael Scott, Jim Gaff, Crossfire, Madison County, US-5, and Texas 55.Nora, Marjie and Doc have come full circle when forming this group, and when you hear this acoustic trio, you'll be truly amazed at their talent and unique sound.
They'd be delighted to meet you and see you at one of their shows!
