9:00am till 1:00pm on two Saturdays in a row: January 18th and 25th. This $50 ticket is to attend both workshops. We have a water-bottle refilling station. Bring snacks if you want.
This below is straight from Roy!
“In the January 18th workshop, we’ll come to know twelve perennial plants' visual and cultural characteristics coupled with their nature of communal living in gardens. We’ll discuss their lifestyle from the time of planting and their development from youth to maturity in relation to other young plants selected to live with them. After choosing plants and placing them in healthy relationships, we’ll look at stewardship practices. These are ‘Best Gardening Practices’ for the love, care, and nurturing of plants in community living. This should be fun! In the January 25th workshop, we’ll further explore the twelve perennial plants from last week in order to place our selections in healthy plant communities. We’ll have actual 120 sq. ft. grid patterns on the floor. Using these grids, we’ll be collaborating with one another to place the individual plants in patterns. This practice creates a way for you to understand how to place plants together so they’ll thrive. Your new knowledge will provide healthy living conditions for your plants well-being. And your stewardship practices will connect with the plant relationships you have created. You’re becoming ‘The Joyful Gardener’. Now you’re gardening because you want to rather than because you have to!” From northwindperennialfarm.com: "Roy is a recognized perennial plant expert, grower, designer, speaker, and author. Combining his thirty-seven years of knowledge growing traditional and Midwest native perennials, he specializes in highly aesthetic, sustainable plant communities for all seasons while reducing maintenance through design. He believes that gardens should be thoughtful, ecologically directed, emotionally outreaching, and very personal."
