The Institute for Victorian Living: Weddings of Geneva Lake in the Gilded Age
Overview
It appears the winds of scandal and spectacle shall soon grace the shores of Lake Geneva, where the crème de la crème of society gather to indulge in that most delectable of pastimes—matrimonial revelry. Your devoted correspondent has received word of a most intriguing soirée at Black Point Estate, where the ghosts of gilded gatherings past shall be summoned for our entertainment. On the evening of September 13th, as the clock strikes five, the estate shall throw open its hallowed doors to those curious souls who wish to peek behind the curtain of Victorian nuptial grandeur. This author has it on good authority that rare photographs and wedding finery from our predecessors' most illustrious celebrations shall be on display.
A pianist of considerable repute shall grace us with period melodies, while guests feast their eyes upon the gowns and accoutrements that once adorned Lake Geneva's most notable brides.
For those truly dedicated to social enlightenment, I am told a series of additional gatherings shall explore the finer points of Victorian deportment—from the secret language of blooms to the intricate dance of proper etiquette.
P.S. For those who wish to ascend to the very pinnacle of society:

Built in 1888 as a retreat for Chicago Beer Baron Conrad Seipp, Black Point Estate has persisted through the centuries as a historic place to relax, refresh, and explore the banks of Geneva Lake and beyond. Much like the Victorian VIPs who originally established the estate, visitors can enjoy the cool lake breezes on the mansion's veranda, sip Seipp beer, and listen to the soothing melodies of the authentic 1911 Chickering piano that rests just inside. As one of the oldest homes in Lake Geneva and a premier example of period architecture and furniture in the Midwest, Black Point Estate offers a glimpse into the rich and historic past of the Gilded Age.
