Q: What do you enjoy most about working at this restaurant?
I enjoy working Magpie’s because the atmosphere is always lively and never the same, with a mix of locals and visitors that keeps things interesting. The fast-paced environment and busy shifts make the work exciting, especially when it pays off with good tips. I also really value the social aspect and the bond built with coworkers, which makes even the most hectic nights feel rewarding.
Q: What is the most memorable guest interaction you have had?
My most memorable experience was meeting a couple who happened to visit one day. During their time at the bar, we engaged in friendly conversation while I shared recommendations on things to do in Lake Geneva. They were incredibly kind from our first interaction and have since made it a point to visit me each month they are in town. Over time, I’ve also had the pleasure of meeting members of their family, several had already heard about me before we were introduced.
Q: What item on the menu is your favorite and would recommend to first time diners?
My favorite menu item is the Caprese sandwich. The combination of fresh mozzarella, sliced tomato, pesto, and balsamic glaze creates a well-balanced flavor profile, all served on a focaccia bun. Adding a couple slices of bacon makes it even more delicious!
Q: What would you recommend to your guest to do for fun in Lake Geneva?
Some highly recommended attractions in the Lake Geneva area include the Tristan Crist Magic Theatre, a scenic excursion with the Lake Geneva Cruise Line, and, of course, experiencing the live music offered here at Magpie’s.
