Q: What is your culinary training background and how did that lead you to the Lake Geneva area?
I bring a strong culinary background shaped by experience in Forbes Five-Star and Five-Diamond resorts across Wisconsin and Arizona, along with formal training from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. My career led me to the Lake Geneva area, where my wife and I chose to establish both our professional and personal roots. I’m especially passionate about the dynamic food scene spanning Chicago, Milwaukee, and Madison. Each city offers a distinct culinary identity, and being centrally located between them provides constant inspiration and opportunity for creativity, collaboration, and growth.
Q: Who has been your biggest culinary inspiration and why?
The cooks and chefs I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside have been a constant source of inspiration throughout my career. I strongly believe in learning something new every day from those around me, regardless of position or experience. That mindset has played a significant role in shaping my growth and guiding me to where I am today.
Q: What is your restaurant best known for?
Lake Lawn Resort is best known for its strong sense of family and tradition. I’m excited for the opportunity to connect with the guests who have been coming here for generations and to play a role in creating memorable experiences for them. It’s truly special to be part of continuing those traditions and ensuring Lake Lawn remains a place they can always call home.
Q: What is your favorite dish to cook and why?
Anything low and slow or Beef Short Ribs! You can really pack a lot of flavor and love into something you take your time with.
Q: What is your process when developing a new dish?
Proper preparation prevents poor performance. A slogan I have always lived by in life and in the kitchen.
Q: Do you have any tips or tricks for those looking to elevate their dishes at home?
Get back to the basics and focus on doing them well. There’s no need to overcomplicate or outdo yourself. Sometimes, a classic dish with a thoughtful twist is all it takes to create something fresh, memorable, and even trendsetting.
