Q: What is your culinary training background and how did that lead you to the Lake Geneva area?

I have several years experience in high end catering. Also managed and cooked for small business specialty deli. So, Lake Gevena seemed to be perfect match.

 

Q: Who has been your biggest culinary inspiration and why?

My Family is my biggest inspiration. They taught me when i was young and as I became an adult I expanded my knowledge by self- educating over the years. I believe support and opportunity plays a huge role in my humble success.

 

Q: What is your restaurant best known for?

In my opinion, Magpies represents amazing elevated bar fare food and enjoying that in a laid back trendy atmosphere. Environment is key to any successful restaurant. Anthony and Tai have created exactly that . . . and we do our best to uphold that environment. it’s a great place for sure!

 

Q: What is your favorite dish to cook and why?

Soups are my favorite . . . everyone loves it and it give me a chance to get create and serve exceptional soups and stews.

 

Q: What is your process when developing a new dish?

Typically, Anthony the owner comes to me with a concept. I will create it and test it. then a tasting. If we all agree it’s tasty but can be accomplished. it could have a spot in the menu.

 

Q: Do you have any tips or tricks for those looking to elevate their dishes at home?

All i can say to that…is always be tasting. and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone and try new spices, ingredients and herbs. stay confident and love cooking!
