Municipal Engineering Design

Development and building permit review require the involvement of a municipal engineer that has a strong understanding of the governmental ordinances and procedures, the necessity for proactive guidance, an eye for detail, and the ability to ensure the resulting improvements meet the end users needs.

Water Engineering

Trotter and Associates, Inc. has become highly respected for successfully planning, designing and implementing a wide range of water and wastewater infrastructure solutions. The potable water system is one of the most important services a community can provide as it protects public health, enhances quality of life, is instrumental in fire protection, and supports economic growth within the community. As such, systems must be designed and operated such that interruption of service is an unusual event.

These projects include roadway reconstruction, annual maintenance and rehabilitation programs, and parking lot design. Our team has extensive experience with designing/permitting/constructing new or improved access locations with IDOT and the various county DOT’s.

TAI knows the importance of maintaining clear and meticulous lines of communication between all parties and during all phases of the project.

TAI has extensive experience in the planning, design and construction of athletic fields including tennis courts, softball and baseball diamonds, as well as soccer and multi-use fields. The Village of Holiday Hills Sanitary Sewer Project will receive almost $1 million in federal funding to extend Northern Moraine Wastewater Reclamation District (NMWRD) sanitary sewers to residents in Holiday Hills, Le Village Vaupell, and unincorporated McHenry County. U.S. Representative Bill Foster requested the project funding to provide critical water infrastructure to improve public health, mitigate flooding, and serve McHenry County residents for generations. The project will benefit the area by improving water quality and gradually eliminating environmental deficiencies. Representative Foster toured the Holiday Hills/ Le Village Vaupell project last year along with Scott Trotter, President of Trotter and Associates, Inc. The engineering vision for this project is to maintain a sustainable municipal wastewater utility while expanding services to unsewered communities, protecting public health, and preserving the environment by reclaiming precious water and other resources.
