Where Art Meets Winter! Every winter, Lake Geneva hosts Winterfest, a nine day festival that celebrates art, winter, family, and fun. Winterfest is home to the U.S. National Snow Sculpting Competition, where fifteen teams of the most talented snow sculptors and artists from around the country gather to compete for a national title. The entire competition is open to the public, so Winterfest attendees can actually watch the artists at work! The festival doesn’t stop there – Winterfest is also home to a Human Dog Sled Race, The Abominable Snow Race, magic shows, helicopter rides, a chili cook-off, and incredible deals at local hotels and restaurants. The Amazing Yeti Race

Are you looking for a fun event to do with your friends, family or co-workers and help in raising funds for an amazing community organization? This year we are adding a new event for Winterfest the Amazing Yeti Race.

Embark on a trek around Lake Geneva to find the Yeti or the Pig. At every destination, each team must compete in a series of challenges, some mental and some physical, and only when the tasks are completed will they learn of their next location.  The Team who is first to arrive at the final destination will be the winner of THE AMAZING YETI RACE.

Human Dog Sled Race

Sunday, January 28

Grab your friends and join us for the 2018 Human Dog Sled Races!

Think traditional dog sledding – with a twist. Each team consists of six people: which include four sled pullers, a sled rider, and a sled pusher. All sleds and harnesses are provided. Simply, show up ready to race to the finish! Teams compete against each other in a double elimination tournament to determine the winners.

Race day is Sunday, February 28th, 2018 during Winterfest so start assembling your team today! Recruit friends, family, co-workers and take advantage. The field will be capped at 16 teams. Prizes are awarded to First, Second & Third place winners, in addition to the most

Cocoa Crawl

Friday, February 2

The Cocoa Crawl is a family-friendly event taking place as a compliment to the many Winterfest activities happening in the area from January 27th – February 4th. This event is free and will take place downtown Lake Geneva. 

You can check in at the Geneva Theater to pick up a map and list of participating businesses. From there, feel free to visit as many businesses as you would like and come back to the Geneva Theater to vote on your favorite.

Snow Sculpting Competition Judging and People’s Choice

Saturday, February 3

Vote for your favorite sculpture. Voting takes place on Saturday, February 3rd, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. The voting areas are located in the Riviera Ballroom and in the Visitor Center in Flat Iron Park .  Be sure to pick up your informational guide when you arrive!

The Awards Ceremony will start at 3:00 P.M. in the Riviera Ballroom. 

Winter Carnival

Sunday, February 4

Join us at The Mountain Top at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa for the annual Winter Carnival. Bring your friends and family for a day filled with skiing, snowboarding, and fun snow activities!

  • Open to guest and the public
  • Games and competitions include Ski Boarder Cross and Rail Jam
