About VISIT Lake Geneva
VISIT Lake Geneva (VLG) was formed in 2016 by a merger between the Lake Geneva Chamber of Commerce and the Lake Geneva Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB). The Lake Geneva Chamber was formed in 1944 to encourage, stimulate and promote economic development, expansion and diversification. In 1980, the Lake Geneva Area CVB was created to market the greater Lake Geneva area to leisure, wedding, group and business travelers, capitalizing on the area's natural appeal as a lake resort destination.
Today, VISIT Lake Geneva continues to fulfill both of these roles and is the region's primary destination marketing organization. As tourism has become a key driver of Lake Geneva's local economy, VLG acts as a united voice on behalf of the business community within the Geneva Lake area. VLG represents a region comprising of seven municipalities surrounding three lakes - Geneva Lake, Lake Como and Delavan Lake.
VISIT Lake Geneva is an independent 501(c)6 not-for-profit organization representing nearly 400 partner businesses. Its primary funding sources are partner membership dues and lodging room tax. The business affairs of VISIT Lake Geneva are managed by a staff of full-time and part-time/seasonal employees occupying a central office in Lake Geneva and a Visitor Information Center near the shore of Geneva Lake. VISIT Lake Geneva is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors who represent a diverse cross section of industries in the community.
Since its creation in 2016, VISIT Lake Geneva has referred to its members as Partners. Partners may choose from a variety of Partnership Tiers to find one that best matches their budget and business goals. All Partners benefit from VLG's strong foundation of business advocacy, networking and educational opportunities, and destination marketing efforts. Our goal is to continually strive to provide the highest level of benefit and service to ensure a positive return on investment for our Partners.
VISIT Lake Geneva is dedicated to marketing the Lake Geneva region to the world. We serve our residents and business leaders as both a destination marketing organization (DMO) and a destination development organization.
