Mission
Aurora Health Care is a nonprofit health system, known for hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, and extensive community care. We provide comprehensive services from primary and specialty care to urgent, home and behavioral health, emphasizing local access and community well-being. As a nonprofit organization, we rely on philanthropy to expand access to care for underserved communities that public and private funding alone cannot sustain. When giving to the Aurora Health Care Foundation, 100% of your donation stays local and benefits the hospital or program you choose.
Community Resources
We have many programs, that with the help of philanthropy, have impacted the Lake Geneva area community. Here are a few examples:
- A new Cardiometabolic Clinic opened at Aurora Lakeland Medical Center this year, only the 2nd in Wisconsin, to help improve heart and metabolic health for patients in the community.
- Reach Out and Read was launched in 2025 to promote early childhood literacy for pediatric patients. They receive a complimentary book from birth
- 5 years of age at each Well Child visit.
- Hope Scarves is a program where a female cancer patient receives a complimentary head scarf with a note of encouragement from a cancer survivor as they begin their journey.
- We provide courtesy transportation for cancer patients that are unable to transport themselves to Kenosha for radiation treatments.
- The Aurora South WI EMS Team provides training to local first responders and fire departments like Lake Geneva. Continuing education and training improve outcomes for families in our community when real emergencies arise.
These local examples would not be possible without philanthropic support.
Most Urgent Need
Aurora Cancer Care provides a variety of programs, resources and support to patients and their caregivers. We’re honored to ensure individuals facing cancer in our community receive the care and encouragement they need throughout their journey. Last year over 500 patients benefited from integrative medicine services such as massage and acupuncture, helping them manage treatment-related symptoms like anxiety, stress, pain and more. These services would not be possible without the generous support of our donors. If awarded a gift from the LGRW, we would use the funds to provide complimentary integrative medicine services for patients in the Lake Geneva area.
