Lake Geneva, WI
Website | Phone: (262) 248-2337

               Mission:

The Lake Geneva (Emergency) Food Pantry collects, purchases, and distributes food, staples, and resources free of charge to those in need in the community in Lake Geneva and outlying areas in order to respectfully and empathetically address and ease food insecurity in our community through accepting contributions—monetary and tangible—from local and nationwide sources.

At the Lake Geneva Food Pantry, we believe that our efforts can make a huge difference. Join us in order to make an impact and bring about transformation in our world. We are 100 percent volunteer-run by a group of people who genuinely care about feeding our community. We have been in existence since 1983. There is a GREAT need in our community.

               Community Resources:

The LGFP provides sustenance--both in food and emotional support. Even working, many clients have to choose between rent and food on their table; we listen to their stories and we help to eliminate some stressors. We serve an average of 414 different people each and every month (in December we served over 580!). We are working to reduce food insecurity in Walworth County. We also provide resources and referrals, as well as listening ears to many, providing a safe space.

               Most Urgent Need:

Our most urgent need is financial. Government funding has been reduced--where we used to receive 15, 25, or more cases of meat/proteins per month, we are now receiving 3 to 5. We must purchase groceries to make up this difference, spending upward of $6,000 per month. The United Way categorizes 40 percent of households in Lake Geneva as poverty households. Government commodities comprise less than 10 percent of our food sources, thus we rely almost completely on donations in order to serve our clients.
