               Mission

Food insecurity and financial strain remain as pressing issues in our community and throughout the state, with more than 15,000 households in Walworth County experiencing these hardships. The Bridge Food & Diaper Bank serves Walworth County neighbors in need by providing food, milk, diapers, period supplies, incontinence products and other free resources. In 2024, we managed our fully stocked food pantry and diaper bank, serving 1,200 households with 500,000 pounds of food, 42,883 diapers, 41,909 period supply items, and 19,273 incontinence supplies.

               Community Resources

The Bridge's flagship program is our Food Pantry, an opportunity for qualifying Walworth County residents to come to our facility once per month to choose their own fresh produce and receive frozen foods, dairy, canned goods, and dry goods. At each visit to our pantry, guests receive enough food for 10-14 days for their households. The Bridge currently provides food for 450 households each month, and 36% of the people in these households are children. None of our efforts would be possible without our engaged volunteers, and we believe that bridging neighbors who want to help others with neighbors who need help creates a strong community path of hope and resolve.

Additionally, The Bridge serves as Walworth County’s Feeding America Partner Drop Site. Through this initiative, we provide food and milk distribution to all of the County’s 13 food pantries, various community organizations, and a local shelter for the unhoused. This year, we are happy to partner with Chapel on the Hill Food Pantry, Lake Geneva Food Pantry, and Mt. Zion Food Pantry through this program to specifically impact the lives of our Lake Geneva neighbors.

Despite the wealth in Lake Geneva, poverty and food insecurity exists in Walworth County, where families rely on the Bridge Food & Diaper Bank each month. The high cost of living leaves many working families, seniors, and children struggling to afford basic necessities. Hidden need persists, even in affluent areas, making community support essential. By providing critical food and diaper assistance, the Bridge Food & Diaper Bank ensures that no family is left behind. Investing in this resource strengthens the entire community—because when all residents have access to essentials, everyone benefits. Together, we can bridge the gap between wealth and need.

               Most urgent needs

At this time, The Bridge's most urgent needs are funding to purchase food for our guests. While we are grateful for partnerships to receive in kind food contributions, The Bridge Food & Diaper Bank spends more than $115,000 on food and milk to support our neighbors. The households and the families we serve every month are depending on our services. If we can't meet the needs of our community, food insecurity and financial instability will increase.
