Maxwell Mansion is a historic estate, boutique hotel, and event venue located just over a block from Geneva Lake in downtown Lake Geneva. The property features 28 distinctive guest rooms across three buildings: the Historic Mansion (built in 1856), the Stables, and the Carriage House.

Overnight guests enjoy access to Maxwell’s outdoor heated pool (open seasonally) and beautifully landscaped grounds shaded by century-old oak trees. The property offers many inviting gathering spaces including fireplaces, fire pits, a bocce ball court, cozy seating areas, and a gazebo. During the winter months, guests and visitors can reserve one of Maxwell’s heated outdoor igloos for a unique seasonal experience.

Maxwell Mansion is one of the most unique event venues in the Lake Geneva area, hosting weddings, corporate meetings, retreats, reunions, birthday celebrations, bridal showers, and more. Our experienced team works closely with guests to create memorable events for groups from 2 to 100.

Guest rooms range from historic accommodations in the mansion to “urBarn” (urban-barn inspired) rooms in the Stables and Carriage House. Many rooms in the Stables feature steam showers, while several Carriage House rooms include whirlpool tubs. All rooms include modern boutique hotel amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi, luxury bathrobes, and upgraded bath products.
