ARTIST STATEMENT:
The Oni mask, a traditional Japanese artifact, portrays an “Oni”—a demon or ogre from folklore renowned for its fearsome appearance. It embodies a striking paradox: a symbol of terrifying power that also serves as a guardian against evil. Its bold, dramatic features—horns, snarling mouth, and piercing eyes—captivate us, inspiring a design that is both visually compelling and deeply meaningful.

Neal B. Vogt (Captain): The team captain of Snowblind is inspired by the love of art and being creative. He has been sculpting for over 25 years competing within the United States as well as internationally. When he is not snow sculpting he expresses his creativity through drawing, painting, and sculpting other mediums.

Mark Hurst: This team member of Snowblind is inspired by the beauty of art and has been sculpting for over 15 years, competing within the United States as well as internationally. When not snow sculpting he expresses his creativity through shadow boxing and music.

Mike Nehs: This team member of Snowblind is inspired to sculpt by Neal! He has been sculpting for over 25 years competing within the United States as well as internationally. When not snow sculpting he expresses his creativity through rebuilding motorcycles.
