TEAM NAME:

Snowblind

SCULPTURE TITLE

Oni Mask

ARTIST STATEMENT:

I create snow sculptures that embrace impermanence and transformation. Working with snow means working with time – each piece shaped by the weather, light, and landscape. My art is a response to nature’s rhythms, inviting reviewers to pause, reflect, and experience beauty in the moment. These temporary forms celebrate the cycle of creation and decay. They are not meant to last, but to remind us that presence is powerful, and letting go can be its own form of art.

Team Members:
  • Neal B Vogt (Captain): The team captain of Snowblind is inspired by the love of art and being creative. He has been sculpting for over 25 years competing within the United States as well as internationally. When he is not snow sculpting he expresses his creativity through drawing, painting, and sculpting other mediums.

  • Mark Hurst: This team member of Snowblind is inspired by the beauty of art and has been sculpting for over 15 years, competing within the United States as well as internationally. When not snow sculpting he expresses his creativity through shadow boxing and music.

  • Mike Nehs: This team member of Snowblind is inspired to sculpt by Neal! He has been sculpting for over 25 years competing within the United States as well as internationally. When not snow sculpting he expresses his creativity through rebuilding motorcycles.
