               Mission:

The mission of the YMCA is to help people of all ages reach their full potential with dignity through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body. From fitness, to sports, to child care, to water safety the YMCA makes these programs affordable and accessible to all. These services are delivered on our core values of our commitment to the community, honesty in all we do, respect we show others and our responsibility to doing what is right and expected.

               Community Resources:

One impactful program we offer to the community is our summer Grab N Go lunch program. As a result of the pandemic, we started a Grab N Go lunch program. Initially, it was to help those who lost jobs, had no or limited access to food, or children who were no longer in school receiving lunches. Through the years, this has become a “covid keeper”. With the rising cost of food, income challenges, and overall state of the economy this need and program still continues and is very much welcomed by our community. Each summer (June-August) we distribute between 3,750-4,500 lunches. Lunches can be picked up Monday-Friday, from 11 am – 12:30 pm, in the YMCA parking lot. Anyone in the community, (does not need to be a member of the YMCA or show financial need) is welcome to pick up a lunch. Volunteers are always welcome to help. Lunch includes a meat or peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fruit/yogurt, crackers, cheese and a granola bar. Snack options do vary each week.

               Most Urgent Needs:

Our organization's most urgent needs at this time include funding for the summer Grab N Go lunch program. To run this program all summer and to meet the anticipated demand of approximately 4,000 individuals it will cost $8,000 for the food and supplies. This equates to approximately $2.00 per lunch.

The second need is funding for our Safety Around Water Drowning Prevention program. This is a FREE program we offer to area second graders. They come to the YMCA during the day by bus, to learn how to be safe in and around water. Drowning is the second leading cause in youth between the ages of 5-14 years old. This crucial life-saving program has doubled in the past two years serving 450 children. The cost for bus transportation has increased significantly to bring these children to the program 4-5 times during the school year.
